SIMPLICITY (Macro and Abstract photography 3)

ABSTRACT in SIMPLICITY

As I've mentioned in my ABSTRACT in CUISINE blog, you can find subjects of art right in your own kitchen! The images on this page are all from my small apartment, using some of the most mundane things, like the window blinds and my son's pencils (first image) or the vase that I use for drying out orange and lemon peels in an attempt to make potpourri (second image). But here you go, folks. Simple, and I chose to take them in monochrome or black and white to make simple even more simple! How simple can you get? Go ahead and rummage through your drawers. There is a piece of art waiting for it's shot at fame!

KITCHEN (Macro photography 2)

ABSTRACT in CUISINE

Did you ever imagine that you would find beautiful subjects of art right under your nose? For us, moms and housewives, they can be found in the nooks of our own office - the kitchen! Here are some inspiration!

QUOTIDIAN (Macro and Abstract photography 1)

ABSTRACT in QUOTIDIAN*
(*of every day)

I love taking class, not only because of the new knowledge I can acquire and the chance to get my work critiqued and to improve on it, but most especially because of the homework. It pushes me to challenge myself to try something new, to risk, to problem-solve, to innovate or even create! It pushes me to squeeze out all the latent creative juices in me. So for my latest class, I decided to do abstract photography! Quite a feat for someone who has dabbled in people and nature photography for the past six months.

I have to admit that I never understood abstract art, and I'm saying this even though I probably should be, being a fine artist as well. In my art paintings, I shied away from this type of art. It never clicked with me. But with abstract art in photography, I got intrigued! I'm still discovering why this is so. The best way I am discovering this is hands on! On day one before I knew it, well as soon as I took my fourth photo actually, I was head over heels with abstract. Here are a few of them. More will be posted, as the weeks come by, for sure!

SUPERMODEL

@ Fox Lake, IL

It sure seems like it was only yesterday when my little girl was still in diapers and had to sit on a high chair, then she began going to school, learning how to read and write. Just today, she came home and read me a whole book all by herself! Now, I'm looking at these photos and I realize that my little girl is no longer a little girl! But it's fun watching her grow up!
