Photo walks are not only great for the body but also for the mind and spirit. I usually end up walking for at least five hours to half a day when I head out for a photo journey. When my mind is about to blow, or even lethargic, a good walk in the woods, and yes, even in the city, can soothe my brain and recharge it for the next mental grind. My spirit becomes relaxed and is renewed as I venture into the gates of nature and take my place with the rest of God's beautiful creation, leaving behind all the man-made "enclosures" that subtly separate us from the rest of the world.
This is my end of summer-beginning of autumn walk, my favorite time of the year. For now, bidding goodbye to the vitality of the summer and welcoming the tranquility of the fall.
