It's 2021. It has been 14 months after Metro Manila was placed under the community quarantine classification.
It's official. The wait is long and uncertain of when it will end.
But then again, maybe the best thing I have ever done is this - wait.
Wait. Take Heart. Wait.
As Psalm 27:14 says, "Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord."
What have I been learning in this season of waiting?
There is sunshine in waiting.
While we may feel drab and drag, perhaps it is all because we don't welcome the wait. We hate to wait. We abhor waiting. And so when someone, or in this case, GOD tells us to "wait", we throw an inner tantrum, we turn sour, we sulk. But life is all about waiting, really. And the Bible is full of stories of great waiters (people who wait on the Lord, not people who wait the tables). And in all these stories, we see God initiating the wait on us as He needs to go about his work first, to prepare what is ahead as well as to prepare us for what is ahead.
Lesson number two, wait is not about me. Ah, perhaps this is where we fail in the area of waiting. We fail to understand the true purpose of waiting, and tend to turn think that waiting is deprivation for us. It is not about me, it is not about us. Really. So wait.
And while we wait, God has placed things in our lives for us to enjoy in the meantime.
